Note: The Sport:80 Knowledge Base contains a wide range of support articles relating to Event Configuration. This article includes just the nuances of the Events Module Configuration on the ACU Sport:80 Platform.
One-Event Licences
One-Event Licences (whose names vary from domain-to-domain, for example: Day Memberships, terminology which might be used by Sport:80 Staff) are designed to primarily work at an Entry Stage level as, usually in an 'OR' relationship with regular Membership ('Member Details' on the ACU subdomain).
Click here for details on how a One-Event Licence is added.
They *CAN* be used as dependencies at Entry Option level, however this dependency requirement will not discriminate which Event the Day Membership is for.
In other words, they could be used in an 'OR' relationship as a dependency for an Entry Option with a regular Add-On such as a discipline- or class-specific Licence or Qualification, but they would ALSO need to be set at an Entry Stage level to ensure the Day Membership has been purchased specifically for that Event.
This is how they have been configured by default and should be understood by all Event Admins before Dependencies are amended in the Event Admin Panel.
Note: because One-Event Licences have different costs (Trials and Practice being different to the others), there are different SubTypes matching to Event Types (see below) to ensure that only the correct price can be paid for the correct licence.
Event Terminology
Please note that the naming conventions differ between Sport:80 Config and Platform Display, so be sure to quote names and/or provide screenshots to illustrate feedback and requests when in communication with Sport:80.
The Module as a whole is referred to as the 'Events Module', and includes the process of Permit Applications (aka "Sanction Requests" or "Licence Applications") and Entry System. Whether an Event as a whole includes both parts is determined by whether it is deemed to be 'ON Platform' - meaning it also takes entries - or 'OFF Platform' - meaning it only serves to create a Permit / Sanction / Licence.
What appears on the main navigation bar are the Event Category Groups such as 'Tournaments', 'Competitions', 'Courses', 'Conferences' and 'Camps' (in Sport:80 terms these are simply Event Types). To add further (unwitting) confusion, one of these is simply called 'Events'.
What the Platform displays as 'Event Types' (in Sport:80 terms these are actually Event SubTypes) belong to a specific Category Groups and can be used for example to:
- 'GrantAddOn' - meaning from the Event Admin Panel a Certification or other Add-On can be awarded, such as to the attendees of a Course following their attendance and completion
- Restrict One-Event Licence Applications by only offering the End User Events which belong to a range of Types
Because of such behaviours, and that Event Types cannot be moved to a different Category Group once LIVE, careful consideration is given during the scoping to create the relevant options.
For the ACU this means:
