Who decides on the questions that are asked on the sanction form?
Sport:80 require some basic questions, as these are needed in order to configure the ‘Events’ module. Other than the basic question required the questions that are asked on the ‘Event Sanctioning’ form are set by the NGB. The NGB also have control over what fields are mandatory.
Do Event Organizers have to hold and sell their event through the Platform?
This purely depends on the NGB's rules, some NGBs allow event organizers to accept entries outside of the Platform.
If the NGB allows organizers to take payments separately from the Platform, they will have the option to select a 'Non-Platform' option when sanctioning an event. Selecting this option will result in the event displaying on the events calendar and events dashboard (on the Platform), however, athletes will not be able to enter.
The benefits of holding an event through the Platform:
-
Athletes are able to login and enter easily
-
The ability to collect entry fees quickly and easily via an integrated payment gateway that provides the flexibility to charge early bird, standard and late rates
-
The ability to configure your event, including the ability to customise event information, categories, number of places available, fees and so on
-
Reports are automatically created for the event organizer, which include ‘Member Entry Reports’ and ‘Financial Reports’
-
Take advantage of the automated waiting list feature for your events and free up unused places for those who initially missed out
-
Manage your entries in real-time, generate event-related reports, edit event information & administer refunds from your admin panel
-
Upsell items at the point of entry such as selling event merchandise
-
The ability to email your entrants before and up to 30-days after the event has taken place
