I’ve not received a password reset email
A ‘Password Reset’ email will always be sent if there is an account attached to the email address. Therefore, Sport:80 would always advise to check the spam/ junk inbox, if the email has still not been received this could be down to a whole host of reasons as the email may have ‘soft bounced’.
A soft bounce is recognised by the email server but has been rejected by the individuals email client. This can be down to a variety of reasons, such as:
-
Mailbox is full (over quota)
-
Mailbox is not configured correctly
-
Mailbox is inactive
-
Recipient email server is down or offline
-
Recipient email server has been sent too many emails during a period of time
-
Email message is too large
-
Domain name does not exist
-
Email message blocked due to content
-
Email message does not meet the recipient server’s policies
-
Email message does not meet the recipient server’s DMARC requirements for authentication
-
Email message does not meet the recipient server’s anti-spam requirements
-
Email message does not meet the recipient server’s anti-virus requirements
-
Email message does not meet the recipient server’s sender requirements
-
Email cannot be relayed between email servers
-
Email cannot be relayed for unknown reasons
Therefore, overcoming a soft bounce will require the affected individual investigating this with their email client to identify the issue. If the affected individual is still experiencing issues, please do not hesitate to contact support.
