There are several reasons why an event may not be taking entries. Although this list is not conclusive, it is worth checking the reasons below before reaching out to Sport:80.
Common reasons why an event cannot take entries
- The event has not been approved by the NGB* - if this is the case, the event will not be viewable to members
-
They do not meet the entry requirements (no valid membership, not having the correct certifications etc)
-
They are too old/ young for the event
-
The event has sold out and the entry limits may have been reached and you will need to contact the event organizer
- The event entries may not yet be open
-
The event entries may be closed (please account for timezones if creating an event in a different timezone to the NGB Head Office)
- Some entry options are no longer selectable; this can be down to either being sold out or the cut off dates in the 'Entry Options' are in the past (the cut off dates are set to 00:00:00am on the day selected)
- They may not have been 'invited' to the event (applies to 'Closed' events)
- Another user with access to the profile may have started the registration process on the athletes behalf, if this is the case the original 'Entered By' user will need to complete or remove the entry or the NGB Federation will need to delete the 'Incomplete' entry in order for another user to start the registration process
*In some cases the event will need to be approved at regional level as well as some organisations require secondary approval by a county, state, zone or association.
The Sport:80 Platform will provide insight to the user trying to enter as to why they cannot enter by displaying on screen messaging. It is the responsibility of event organizers to check the settings within the event admin panels and to understand why the prospective entrant is not able to enter. If all else fails, please contact support with the Event ID, Event Name, issue description and the Sport:80 team will be more than happy to assist.
