What is a Manual Addition?
A Manual Addition is a way of adding someone to an event who is previously unregistered.
What is the purpose of a Manual Addition?
Manual Additions serve the purpose of either starting the entry process for the End User to complete, or enabling the Event Admin to complete the entry using Manual Alterations.
What information is needed for a Manual Addition?
The 4 pieces of information needed are:
- Date-of-Birth of the individual
- Membership Number (for the line item of #4)
- The User Account to which the event entry should be attributed - note this User or Organisation must have access to the Individual being entered
- If it is a User Account, enter the User e-mail address
- If it is an Organisation, enter the EXACT Organisation name
- Select the record against which the Membership Number (#2) is held
Note: "Membership Number" in this instance refers to whatever Add On the NGB or IF classes as it's PRIMARY Add On - the one which generates a Number by which the Member is known. This will vary on a domain-by-domain basis.
When to use Manual Additions?
Sport:80 encourages, wherever possible, that the End User takes responsibility for their account and their actions on the Platform, including event entry. This ensures:
- Any declarations / waivers / statements are directly agreed to by the End User
- The End User receives all Platform Communications as the User who has processed the item/entry
- The NGB/IF or any Event Admin can make the End User aware of other information or potentially up- or cross-sell further items
- The End User will organically become more familiar with Platform navigation and features
Because of these reasons, in the vast majority of instances it may be more appropriate to use one of the following features to encourage Event Entry (click the item to be taken to the relevant Knowledge Base support article):
