Why is a member listed as 'Ineligible' when they have entered an event?

What does 'Ineligible' mean? 

A member listed as ‘Ineligible' means that the entrant was able to enter the event as they had all the required dependencies attached to their profile at the time of entering. However, if they are marked as ‘Ineligible’ this will mean that they are ‘ineligible’ to compete at the event due to one of the dependencies being lapsed on the date of the event. Ineligible entrants do not meet the requirements of the event. 

In order to rectify this and make the entrant ‘Eligible’, the entrant will need to ‘Renew’ the dependency that will lapse before the event takes place.

• A entrant will ONLY receive an email event reminder if they have a requirement that is due to expire before the event takes place

• The email will tell the entrant that they will need to renew the requirement before the event takes place otherwise they will not be allowed to take part, e.g. their membership is due to expire before the event

• Event organizers will receive an email notification that will contain a list of entered athletes that will be ineligible to compete unless they have renewed the requirements needed to compete, e.g. if an athlete's membership is due to expire before the event has taken place

Note: If Membership is the required dependency, where the Membership is on Auto-Renewal the Member will show as 'Eligible'.  However, where the Member has Pre-Paid a renewal onto a DIFFERENT Membership Type, until that change-over happens, the Member will show as 'Ineligible'.

Applying this to a real-life example

‘Joe Bloggs’ wants to compete in the Regional Championships. In order to compete the athlete must have a ‘Valid Membership’. At the point of entering ‘Joe Bloggs’ had a ‘Valid Membership’ therefore, he was able to enter. His membership is due to lapse before the event so he becomes ‘Ineligible’ to compete. If ‘Joe Bloggs’ renews his membership before the event, he will be ‘Eligible’ and will be allowed to compete. However, if ‘Joe Bloggs’ doesn’t renew his membership before the event, he will remain as ‘Ineligible’ and will not be allowed to compete.
