When completing a purchase on the Platform, the status of your membership may vary depending on the payment method used at checkout. This article explains each possible status and what it means for your membership.
After submitting payment, your membership may enter one of the following states:
1. Pre-Paid Pending payment (Invoice Payment)
If you choose to pay by Invoice, your membership will enter a Pre-Paid Pending payment status.
Why?
- The platform generates an invoice at checkout.
- Your membership will remain Pending until the invoice is manually marked as paid by your organization or governing body administrator.
- No membership benefits become active until payment is confirmed.
When does it update?
- As soon as the admin marks the invoice as paid in the system, the membership status updates automatically to 'Current'
2. Pending (BACS / Bank Transfer Payment)
If you pay via BACS or bank transfer, your membership will also remain in a Pending status.
Why does it take time?
- Bank transfers typically take 3–5 business days to reach and be confirmed by the organisation.
- The platform cannot automatically detect a bank transfer; an admin must reconcile the payment.
When does it update?
- Once the funds are received and the admin confirms the payment, your membership status will automatically update.
3. Action Required
If your membership shows Action Required, it means another item must be completed before it can become valid.
Why?
- Your membership requires an additional step, such as uploading a document, completing a form, or purchasing a linked product.
How to view?
- Click the Action Required status to see exactly what is missing.

Important Reminder: For Instant Activation, Pay by Card
To avoid delays and ensure your membership becomes active immediately, we strongly recommend paying by card where possible.
This method gives you:
- Instant payment confirmation
- Instant membership activation
- No manual admin processing delays
