Who can pay for my individual membership?
This will depend on the access level an account has to your profile. Only accounts with ‘Full Access’ (or 'Event Only' in some instances) will be able to pay for your membership as they will be the accounts that have access to amend/ edit your membership form.
For some individuals this will mean that ‘Organizations’ such as ‘Clubs’ will be able to renew their membership because the club has got the right level of access to a profile.
If an account or ‘Organization’ need a different level of access they will need to contact the NGB directly via the support feature to request that their access is upgraded.
How do I set up a standing order/ direct debit for my membership?
In the platform this is known as an ‘Auto Renewal’. ‘Auto Renewals’ are items in your account that are available to be set to collect payment automatically.
How to set up an 'Auto Renewal'
Can I pre-pay for a membership I manage?
Yes. To pre-pay for your membership you must make sure your current membership is within the renewal window.
Membership will only go into a pre-paid status if you are changing the type of membership that you already have, for example changing from an ‘Adult’ membership to a ‘Coach’ membership. After you have made payment, your new membership will go into a pre-paid status for the duration you have left on your current membership. When your current membership expiration date reaches, your new membership will automatically update and this will become ‘Current’.
If you need your pre-paid membership to come into affect before your renewal date, please request this with your NGB who will be able to trigger the pre-paid membership early (if their policy allows this).
Does my membership automatically upgrade if I am on auto renewal?
This depends on the NGB and how they have configured their Platform for upgrading the membership type, but as a general rule the system will automatically upgrade the membership. An example would be a junior membership automatically updating to an adults membership because the member has outgrown the age range of the junior membership.
If you have any concerns, reach out to your NGB who will be able to confirm.
Note: The worst that will happen is the auto renewal will fail and you'll be required to log back in and purchase the correct membership. The Platform will notify the user that set up the original auto renewal via email.
